There are many ramen restaurants in Aobadai. Almost every area in Aobadai,we can find at least one ramen restaurant. And each ramen restaurant has own uniqueness. Menya Kobayashi （麺屋 小林）is also one of them.

1: Where is the restaurant?

Menya-Kobayashi is located in the residential area yet many customers comes during the meal time. If you come from Aobadai station, you need sometime to walk to this restaurant but if you are ramen lover, you must not miss this restaurant! The restaurant is along the main road in Aobadai ” Kanjo No.4″ . Around this restaurant, you can find a cake shop, coffee bean shop etc so you can drop by these shops after this ramen restaurant.

2: Atmosphere

Very typical ramen restaurant concept such as counter table only in the restaurant but Menya-Kobayashi, counter table is arranged as U shape and restaurant crews are surving food and glass of water in the middle of the U shape which is very unique. The image of restaurant is clean and bright. Once you go inside the restaurant, buy the ticket what you wish to eat from the menu. Then you pass it to the restaurant crew. Recommend to bring ” cash” for this payment.

3: Food

Menya-Kobayashi has of course standard ramen menu such as Syoyu ramen (Noodle in soysauce taste soup) but many unique soup for attracting customers. I ordered ” Tsuke men Aka Oni (Dipped noodle ” Red Demon” 900yen). Since soup name is named ” Red Demon”, I can imagine how hot (spicy) soup is.. but I am spicy lover. I could enjoy this dip soup. The soup is not only spicy but also tasty!(Yummy!) Noodle is very chewy. This soup and noodle , great combination ! 100 marks! lol.

I thought that most of people can leave soup after eating noodle. But restaurant give us hot water to add on the soup for drinking . It is like a soba restaurant. Since soup is very tasty, I could enjoy this hot soup.

I visited this restaurant other time to try standard ramen ” Syoyu Ramen ” (Soysauce taste soup noodle). Simple but taste well. Noodle is chewy as always. Very stable taste. This restaurant never betray our expectation!
